Transport from Iran May Be Prohibited: 'Hraparak'
The newspaper 'Hraparak' reports: 'On November 11, Secretary of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan announced that Azerbaijan would establish a customs checkpoint on the Goris-Kapan road. He stated that although the Azerbaijani side has not fully clarified what this entails, the logic suggests the collection of certain fees for road usage, and, naturally, also passport checks.'
However, the issue is that there are no diplomatic relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, and Armenian citizens cannot cross the border with their passports, as absurd as it sounds. Azerbaijan may also require an entry visa for this purpose. For the same reason, transport from Iran may be prohibited.
To resolve these issues, a state is needed, but if we had one, that customs checkpoint would simply not appear in Syunik.'
