Russian Defense Ministry on the Activities of Peacekeepers in Artsakh
The Russian Federal Military Police units have ensured the safe movement of more than 8,000 vehicles in 200 convoys during their one-year operation in Nagorno-Karabakh. This information is stated in a report by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
It is reported that trucks transporting construction materials and food products are operating on the Shushi-Red Market-Khndzoresk route and in the opposite direction. The movement of convoys consisting of more than 40 trucks is organized along dirt roads that pass through difficult mountainous terrains.
There are 5 observation posts in the area of responsibility of the Russian peacekeepers, and they ensure the movement of vehicles across the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.
“During the first year of the Russian peacekeeping forces' operation, more than 600 personnel of the military police have been involved in ensuring the safe movement of over 8,000 vehicles,” said Dmitry Levikin, a representative of the troops.
It should be noted that on November 9, the leaders of Russia, Armenia, and Azerbaijan reached an agreement on the deployment of Russian peacekeepers in Nagorno-Karabakh. A statement was signed according to which seven regions, Shushi, and Hadrout, except for one village, and the villages of Askeran and Martuni regions, as well as the villages of Talysh and Mataghis in the Martakert region, are transferred to Azerbaijan.
