Azerbaijan Continues to Torpedo Implementation of Agreements: Mher Grigoryan

As a result of the war unleashed by Azerbaijan, 40,000 people have been left homeless and lost their property, 17,000 civilian facilities and infrastructure have been destroyed, and several thousand people have been killed or injured, including civilians, with many still unaccounted for. This was stated by Armenia's Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan during an online meeting of the CIS leaders' council on November 12, as reported by Armenpress.

“Despite the commitments undertaken on November 9, Azerbaijan continues to torpedo the implementation of the agreements reached, including the detention of numerous Armenian prisoners of war, which is not only a gross violation of the 8th point of the trilateral statement of November 9, 2020, but also of international humanitarian law. By distorting the provisions of the trilateral statements of November 9, 2020, and January 11, 2021, Azerbaijan is inflating the idea of a corridor, raising threats of the use of force,” emphasized the Deputy Prime Minister.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict cannot be resolved through the use of force. “The resolution of the conflict can only be achieved through peaceful negotiations, exclusively within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co-chairmanship mandate. To de-escalate the situation and enter a phase of peaceful development in the region, it is essential that Azerbaijan adopt a constructive position, abandoning the politics of hatred, aggressive rhetoric, and hostile actions,” Grigoryan concluded.
