12-Year-Old Child Admitted to Hospital with Four Severed Fingers

The spokesperson for the "St. Astvatsamayr" Medical Center, Gevorg Derzdyan, announced on his Facebook page: "A 12-year-old child has been admitted to the 'St. Astvatsamayr' Medical Center with four fingers amputated (dismembered). The incident occurred while playing with a dog. The animal was tied with a steel cable instead of a regular leash, with one end wrapped around the child's fingers. As the dog ran, the cable tightened, resulting in the severing of the child's four fingers.

The child underwent surgery for ten hours, and plastic surgeons at the 'St. Astvatsamayr' Medical Center performed a finger replantation. We urge pet owners to use specially designed leashes for animals kept at home or in yards to avoid such terrible incidents."
