What Was Known About the Murdered 'Kanakerzi Tuy' - Voskane Sarkisyan

“What was known about the murdered Kanakerzi Tuy? Arthur Ghazaryan, known as Kanakerzi Tuy, who was shot dead in Yerevan during the night, was not only frequently mentioned in criminal stories but also known for his business activities. He owned a gas station operating below the village of Tavush in the Tavush region. A year ago, Tuy sold the 'Utiq' hotel located in the center of Berd city, of which he was the owner or co-owner.

The photo shows the building of the Vanadzor Secondary School in the Tavush region, in front of which stands a bust of Tuy's father, Hayk Ghazaryan. The school has carried Hayk Ghazaryan's name for about 15 years, although Hayk Ghazaryan was never a teacher nor worked at that school. The naming of the school was granted permission by Tavush Governor Armen Ghulyan, who is now the chairman of the Urban Development Committee.

During the 2013 presidential election campaign, Kanakerzi Tuy was among those accompanying Serzh Sargsyan in Dilijan. Reports state that in February 2021, Tuy was awarded combat weapons by the President of Artsakh, based on Nikol Pashinyan's request. According to information obtained from the Berd region during the parliamentary elections on June 20, 2021, Kanakerzi Tuy worked in favor of the Civil Contract party in Berd community. Last year, Tuy was constructing a large private house in Yerevan.”
