Video: Footage from the Murders in Kanaker
On the night of November 11, starting at 2:45 AM, the police department in Kanaker-Zeitun received alerts from various medical centers in the capital regarding six individuals hospitalized with gunshot wounds. Among them, 61-year-old Artush Simonyan and 38-year-old Arthur Boryan succumbed to their injuries without regaining consciousness.
Operational groups dispatched to hospitals discovered that the men had sustained their injuries at the residence of the deceased, Artush Simonyan, located at house number 16 on 16th Street in Kanaker. Police, investigators, and prosecutors who arrived at the scene found various types of firearms, including 4 pistols, two submachine guns, over 40 cartridges, blood-like traces, and more within the premises. Bodies of the men were located in the backyard.
The identities of the deceased were revealed as 43-year-old Arthur Ghazaryan and 37-year-old Arayik Khachatryan, who had received life-threatening gunshot wounds. Extensive operational and investigative measures are underway to clarify the circumstances of the incident. A preliminary investigation is being conducted.
