Son of Former MP Suspected in Shooting and Murder of 'Kanaker-Tuy'

Details have emerged regarding the suspect in the murder of 'Kanaker-Tuy'. According to information received by Armlur.am, the individual suspected of the murder is the son of former National Assembly deputy Artush Simonian, known widely as Tuysh. Notably, the gunfire occurred at the former MP's residence.

It is important to mention that Artush Simonian was elected as an MP in 2003 from the Kanaker-Zeitun administrative district as an independent candidate. From 1998 to 2001, he served as the commercial director of Armenian Airlines.

Recall that Shamshyan.com reported that a shooting and murders reminiscent of an action film occurred in Yerevan today, November 11. Around 02:50 AM, the Police's operational management center received a report of gunfire heard at one of the private homes in Kanaker, with casualties.

As reported by photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, officials arrived at the scene, including Deputy Chief of Police Aram Hovhannisyan, Head of the Criminal Police Department Vardan Vardanyan, and Chief of the Yerevan Police Sevan Kocharyan, along with other key officers.

Police officers and investigation teams from the Criminal Investigation Department have responded to the scene. Two male bodies were discovered in the yard of one of the homes on 16th Street in Kanaker, and further information revealed that two more individuals had been transported to the hospital, although they later succumbed to their injuries en route.

Several types of weapons, spent cartridges, bullets, knives, and traces of blood were found at the scene. According to information from the photojournalist, one of the deceased at the scene was a known figure in the criminal underworld, identified as 'Kanaker-Tuy', while the home where the incident occurred reportedly belongs to former MP Artush Simonian.

A criminal case has been initiated at the Investigative Department of Yerevan under several articles of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Armenia.
