Menua Hovsepyan Voluntarily Went to Prison
According to news from News.am, the Deputy Mayor of Goris, Menua Hovsepyan, has voluntarily gone to the Goris penitentiary to serve his sentence.
It should be noted that today, November 11, the Court of Appeals, presided over by Sevak Hambardzumyan, annulled the decision to release Menua Hovsepyan on bail and has issued a ruling for his detention.
According to his lawyer, Hovsepyan's detention is politically motivated.
Hovsepyan has been charged under Article 179, Part 3, Point 1 of the RA Criminal Code (misappropriation or waste of property through the use of official position, especially in large amounts) and Article 149.1, Part 2, Points 1 and 2 of the RA Criminal Code (coercion to participate in pre-election campaigning, which was carried out using an official position).
There are also three other individuals who hold the status of defendants in this criminal case, including the former Deputy Mayor of Goris, Irina Yolyan.
