Will the head of the Military Police be dismissed? - 'Hraparak'

The newspaper 'Hraparak' writes: 'The days of Ashot Zakaryan, the head of the Military Police, are numbered. Apart from the fact that the contract of the Military Police chief expired on October 10, there are indications that he is linked to the well-known arms case initiated by the National Security Service (NSS), which led to the detention of former Minister of Defense Davit Tonoyan and the Ministry of Defense supplier Davit Galstyan about a month ago.

According to reports, Zakaryan has not been frequently attending work and has taken a sick leave, which has effectively prolonged his term of office for about a month after the expiration of the contract. As per our sources in the Military Police, a temporary acting head has even been appointed, however, Zakaryan categorically denied the reports of his departure in a conversation with us, asserting that he has not been absent from work for even one day.'

Details are available in today's issue of the newspaper.
