Everything Cannot Be Done in Secret: We Will Demand Answers from the Government, Says MP Calling for Rally
This morning at 11:00, let’s gather at Republic Square to resist. This statement was made by Gegham Manukyan, an MP from the ‘Armenia’ faction of the National Assembly, responding to the remarks made by the Secretary of the Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, regarding Azerbaijan's plans to install checkpoints on the Goris-Kapan road starting today.
“There is a Security Council member named Armen Grigoryan who stated live on H1 that the Yerevan-Kapan road has been in the best condition it has been in the last 15 years, while stating that Azerbaijan is already setting up checkpoints on the Goris-Kapan route as of midnight. What level of detachment must he have to take pride in the quality of the roadbed after losing our homeland? Wasn’t this the same group claiming that we are the masters of our own country? This is what their master thinks. David Sanasaryan, isn’t this member of the Security Council your friend? You rejected Serge? Don’t you have anything to say about Armen Grigoryan?
This morning at 11:00, let’s gather at Republic Square to resist. Are we resisting? Let’s come out and resist. Who is coming? We are waiting. Today, the government officially announced that the Goris-Kapan road is now under Azerbaijani control. Moreover, a government member went to Syunik today and officially announced the completion of the construction of an alternative road and continued the treacherous work of the Armenian authorities towards the enemy by closing the main road.
Are we to tolerate this? Who will be held accountable? Is it the government? They are holding a meeting this morning, and we also have the right to ask questions. Everything cannot be done in secret. We will demand answers from the government,” wrote Manukyan.
