Aliyev and His Subordinates Will Use Every Opportunity to Spread Such Statements, Edmon Marukyan

Edmon Marukyan, the leader of the Bright Armenia party, posted a video on his Facebook page of his visit to Artsakh with fellow party members and made a related comment.

“Yesterday, Azerbaijan’s military department condemned the visit of the Armenian Minister of Defense to Artsakh, describing it as a provocation on the eve of the anniversary of the signing of the trilateral statement. At the same time, Azerbaijan’s military department ‘warned’ that ‘necessary measures will be taken to prevent aggressive separatism and terrorist acts in accordance with Azerbaijani legislation in case of a recurrence of such illegal visits to Azerbaijan’s territory.’

This reminded me of the visit of the Armenian Foreign Minister to Artsakh on January 6, after which Baku similarly announced that Armenian officials should not visit Artsakh; the next day we organized a visit to Artsakh by members of the National Assembly from the Bright Armenia faction.

Of course, Aliyev and his subordinates will use every opportunity to spread such statements, but we should not live by the rules they set and must be able to put our logic forward, strengthening our country and army. The more we concede, the more we will be pushed back.
