Vaccines Have No Proven Negative Impact on Sexual and Reproductive Health, Ministry of Health

COVID-19 vaccines have no proven negative impact on sexual and reproductive health, according to an analysis of several studies. The Ministry of Health reports this finding.

Data studies of vaccinated individuals indicate that all reported post-vaccination side effects are not related to erectile or other sexual functional disorders. There is no evidence that vaccines cause infertility in men or women, harm fertility, or lead to miscarriage.

At the same time, there is preliminary data suggesting that COVID-19 can disrupt the functioning of sexual organs through various mechanisms. A significant number of studies have recorded that COVID-19 can negatively affect semen quality, decrease sexual desire, and lead to erectile dysfunction.

Thus, according to the available data, COVID-19 vaccines are safe and do not in any way affect the sexual and reproductive health of women or men. Meanwhile, the coronavirus disease can have long-term negative effects on men's reproductive health.

The above data is taken from a summary article published in the high-ranking international journal Nature in October, titled “Effects of SARS CoV-2, COVID-19, and its vaccines on male sexual health and reproduction: where do we stand?” which consolidates the results of more than 60 studies.
