There Will Be No Peace with Azerbaijan. The Proof Is the Murder of an Armenian Young Man Near Shusha, Tevan Poghosyan

From the first day, I have said that there will be no peace with Azerbaijan. If someone needs to know this, let them take a look at Aliyev's speech yesterday and the murder of an Armenian young man by Azerbaijanis near Shusha,” political scientist Tevan Poghosyan said in an interview with Aysor.am.

“In his interview the day before, Nikol Pashinyan said that the Azerbaijanis have fired shots for 300 days out of 365. He also mentioned that the peace agenda does not mean that we should be killed and remain silent. Now we will see if they will be silent or if they will speak. But what do we rely on? After all, this government was formed on June 20, and on that day, when some people went to vote, they thought, has the Turk changed? They voted for a defeated government. Unfortunately, this means that the Armenian people, especially those who went and voted for that agenda, simply do not have a grasp on who their enemy is and who their neighbors are. These people have either not read the history textbooks, or they do not have a clear understanding of the Genocide, or they do not know that the Sumgait, Kirovabad, and Baku massacres took place, as well as the atrocities of 1991-1994. Perhaps these people interpret Ramil Safarov's beheading of an Armenian officer as a sign of peace, or maybe they believed that Gurgen Margaryan should be the last victim,” Poghosyan stated.

The political scientist cannot envision when the Armenian nation will realize the honor of a compatriot and country security. “Currently, there is no public demand for revenge and punishment for the honor of Martik (referring to Martik Yeremyan, who was shot by Azerbaijanis near Shusha), but rather just condemnatory statements are being circulated. There needs to be an understanding that you must punish someone because no one will go and grab an Azerbaijani by the hand. One must rely on their own strength. If a sense of love for the homeland, security, and dignity for compatriots awakens in the Armenian people, perhaps some things will change. If not, we have what we have,” Poghosyan concluded.
