Personnel Reshuffles: Colleagues Say He's a Weak Guy - 'Hraparak'

'Hraparak' newspaper reports that Gegham Vardanyan, Minister of Internal Markets and Information and Communication Technologies of the EAEU Commission, has been dismissed from his position at his own request. The government has appointed Deputy Minister of Economy Varos Simonyan to take over.

According to our sources, Vardanyan has long wanted to leave this position, which he has held since 2019. Vardanyan, who is a mathematician by profession, previously served as the Deputy Minister of High-Tech Industry and, prior to that, as the Deputy Minister of Transport, Communication and Information Technologies. His colleagues describe him as a weak guy.

It seems the government found that Varos Simonyan, who had taken on the heavy burden of press conferences during the state of emergency, has been visible enough and is now fit to take on a less prominent position.
