Biden Extends Sanctions Against Iran for Another Year
U.S. President Joe Biden has decided to extend the so-called state of emergency concerning sanctions against Iran for another year. This was reported by TASS.
Biden emphasized that “U.S.-Iran relations have not yet been resolved,” and that “the process of implementing the bilateral agreements made on January 19, 1981, continues.” This refers to the so-called Algiers Accords between the U.S. and Iran, which led to the release of American diplomats who had been held hostage in Tehran for more than a year following the 1979 revolution.
