Covid-19 symptoms have undergone changes. This was reported by Natalia Pshenichnaya, Deputy Director for Clinical and Analytical Work at the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and Professor, to RIA Novosti.

“Symptoms are increasingly resembling those of acute respiratory viral infections or the flu. The overwhelming majority of patients report nasal discharge and sore throat, while loss of smell and taste is becoming less prominent. In 30-50% of cases, diarrhea and other gastrointestinal problems are observed at the onset of the disease,” she explained.

Pshenichnaya added that the virus can multiply in the intestines even after the patient has recovered. It can sometimes be detected several months after infection.
