Cases of Death from Covid-19 Despite Vaccination Reported: Avanesyan

The Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia will publish information indicating that there have been cases of individuals dying from Covid-19 even after being vaccinated. This was stated by Minister of Health Anahit Avanesyan during a joint meeting of the Standing Committees on Health and Financial-Budgetary Issues of the National Assembly, discussing the draft state budget for 2022.

“In the coming week, after summarizing the vaccinations conducted and correlating them with mortality, we will publish that we have had cases where, unfortunately, individuals who were vaccinated have died from coronavirus. This information will also be made public soon. However, we must understand that vaccinations are an effective measure, but we cannot rule out the possibility of infection, the severity of the disease's progression, and, regrettably, also death,” said Avanesyan.

According to the minister, in other countries, vaccinated individuals typically experience the disease in a mild or moderate form 98-99 percent of the time. Many may not even realize they have contracted the virus because they are vaccinated. However, Avanesyan acknowledged that there are also cases of mortality among vaccinated individuals. She emphasized that this should not undermine the effectiveness of vaccinations.

“Yes, vaccinations, like any medication or medical intervention, have a degree of effectiveness, and nothing can provide a 100 percent guarantee,” noted Avanesyan.

The minister also spoke about cases of obtaining fake vaccination certificates. She pointed out that when a death is registered and it is found that the individual acquired their vaccination certificate without being vaccinated, unfortunately, there is no method to determine whether they were vaccinated or not. She stressed that law enforcement agencies must continuously address this issue strictly.
