Should I Sell 10% of My Tesla Shares? Elon Musk Asks His Followers

The world's richest man, the renowned Elon Musk, has asked his 62.5 million followers on Twitter whether he should sell 10% of his Tesla shares, as reported by The Guardian.

“Recently, a lot has been done to make unrealized gains a way to avoid taxes, so I am suggesting selling 10% of my Tesla shares,” Musk wrote on Twitter, referring to the proposed 'billionaires tax' by Democrats in the U.S. Senate.

Musk emphasized that he will adhere to the results of the poll. Less than an hour after Musk's post, it received over 700,000 responses, with nearly 56% of respondents in favor of selling the shares.

As of June 30, Musk's shares in Tesla amount to approximately 170.5 million securities, and selling 10% of his shares would net around $21 billion, according to Reuters calculations.

Earlier, Musk had criticized the proposal for the 'billionaires tax.'
