The Nagorno-Karabakh Conflict is Not Resolved: Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The use of force cannot remove the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict from the international agenda. This was stated by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Vahan Hunanyan, while commenting on the remarks made by Hikmet Hajiyev, assistant to the President of Azerbaijan, at the request of a NEWS.am reporter.

H. Hajiyev mentioned in a speech at Azerbaijan's ADA University the day before that "the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is no longer finished and has remained in the past. For Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh is now a topic of internal agenda rather than foreign policy."

"The Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is not resolved. The use of force cannot only not solve it but also cannot remove the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict from the international agenda. Armenia has repeatedly stated its principled position regarding the Nagorno-Karabakh issue, which coincides with the position of the international community: a comprehensive and long-term resolution of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict can only be achieved through peaceful negotiations under the mandate of the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, based on known principles and elements, including the inalienable right of peoples to self-determination," emphasized Vahan Hunanyan.
