No newborn died at Gyumri Medical Center, clarification

Media outlets published reports titled "A baby has died in the Gyumri maternity hospital; the father burned the maternity hall," which has been mistakenly perceived as a new incident, according to a statement from the Gyumri Medical Center.

"We inform you that the incident occurred in 2006, when the Gyumri maternity hospital was not yet operational as part of the Gyumri Medical Center. Concerning the mentioned case, it should be noted that A. M.'s child was born underweight in 2006. After being transferred to another hospital's intensive care unit due to health issues, the newborn unfortunately passed away. The child's father regularly recalls this tragic incident and visits the Gyumri maternity hospital, creating conflict situations. The latest incident occurred on March 6, 2021, around 01:00, which media reported about six months later. To prevent any confusion in the informational field, we kindly urge our media partners to publish the information comprehensively to avoid creating confusion in society," the statement from the medical center reads.
