Mushroom Pizza Eaten: New Details on the Notorious Poisoning Incident
Four citizens have been poisoned by food at the "Tashir Pizza" chain located on Khanzadyan Street in Yerevan. Two of them are being treated at the Norq Infectious Diseases Hospital, while the other two are at the Martuni Medical Center. The affected individuals are siblings aged between 18 and 22. According to Narek Ghazaryan's girlfriend, Anahit Khachikyan, who spoke with NEWS.am, all four had pizza together on November 3 at the food establishment.
“They ate mushroom pizza, although they can’t remember the exact name. The next morning, one of them felt unwell, experiencing nausea, weakness, and dizziness, and soon the others began to feel ill and sought medical attention. My boyfriend’s sister was in the worst condition, with a temperature of 39 degrees. They are receiving treatment now, and there are slight improvements; they can move independently,” she said, noting that doctors have assessed all four as being in moderately severe condition.
Today, the Food Safety Inspection Body issued a statement indicating that, according to information received from the National Center for Disease Control and Prevention, 15 citizens were admitted to the National Center for Infectious Diseases on November 4 with a preliminary diagnosis of intestinal infection, in moderate condition. Among them, two are children aged 10 and 13. All the affected individuals reported eating at a "Tashir Pizza" establishment, with 13 dining on Northern Avenue in Yerevan and 2 on Khanzadyan Street.
