Members of Marutyan's Family Infected with Coronavirus; Mayor in Quarantine

The budget for Yerevan for 2022 was discussed in parliament without Mayor Hayk Marutyan. Instead, Deputy Mayor Sergey Nersisyan represented him in the parliament. He mentioned that Hayk Marutyan is quarantined at his workplace.

“The mayor had planned to personally attend the parliament and present Yerevan’s budget, but unfortunately, Hayk Marutyan’s wife and children have been infected with the coronavirus. Being in a dangerous zone, he does not want to risk the lives of others. Currently, he is in a quarantined state at his workplace but does not have direct contact with anyone,” said the deputy mayor.

A My Step faction MP also warned, “Please convey to the mayor that the MPs say this time the reason is respectable, but next time he should attend parliament in person.”
