COVID-19 Cases in Europe Approach Record Levels, WHO Expresses Concern
The World Health Organization (WHO) has expressed concern regarding the spread of COVID-19 across 53 European countries. According to TASS, the number of cases in Europe is nearing record levels, with the most prevalent variant in the region being the 'Delta' strain.
Hans Kluge, the Director of WHO's European Office, stated that if 95% of Europe’s population wears masks, nearly 200,000 lives could be saved. He clarified that the increase in infections is attributed to low vaccination coverage and the easing of restrictive measures.
