Aram Vardevanyan on Reports of Charchyan Resigning from Mandate

Reports regarding Armen Charchyan’s resignation from his mandate have no relation to reality. This was stated by Aram Vardevanyan, a member of the 'Armenia' faction, while commenting on media reports suggesting that Charchyan might resign from his mandate in exchange for being released and returning to the hospital for professional work.

In an interview, Vardevanyan categorically denied the information and characterized it as a manipulation, calling it another manifestation of lies. 'This information has no relation to reality; it is related to the fact that this government is carrying out political persecution and vendetta against Armen Charchyan. The fact that Mr. Charchyan has demonstrated willpower and principles during this period is also a fact; you can disregard such gossip. I can say that Armen Charchyan’s detention should be lifted immediately, and he should be released,' he stated, adding, 'This information should be viewed in the context of yet another manipulation, the spread of lies and deceit.'
