34.7 Billion Dram Allocated for Compensation of Damage to Soldiers' Lives and Health

The Armenian government will allocate 34.7 billion dram in 2022 for compensation related to damages caused to the lives and health of soldiers during service, announced Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Narek Mkrtchyan in the National Assembly.

"A budget request of 579.9 billion dram has been presented, which is 76.7 billion dram more than the approved budget for 2021; however, 36.2 billion of this will be directed to the pension accounts of participants in the accumulative fund, while 34.7 billion will be for compensation for damages inflicted on soldiers' lives and health during their service," the minister stated.

He also presented the final results of the bonuses and honors program, noting that the actual expenditure for the program in 2020 amounted to 11 billion dram, benefiting 34,521 individuals. "In 2021, 11.3 billion dram was allocated from the state budget for this purpose, with an expected beneficiary count of 36,437 individuals. For 2022, 11 billion dram is planned for 35,430 beneficiaries," the minister added.

According to Narek Mkrtchyan, 30 billion 921 million 306 thousand dram has been allocated for supporting vulnerable social groups in 2022. "The 2020 expenditure was 30 billion 797 million 536 thousand dram, while the allocated amount for this purpose in the 2021 state budget was 37 billion 188 million 32 thousand dram," he further elaborated.
