Vaccination for Children Aged 5-11 Against COVID-19 Starts in the U.S., Biden

U.S. President Joe Biden has announced that authorities are ready to start vaccinations for children aged 5 to 11 against COVID-19 from next week, TASS reports. More than 28 million young Americans are now eligible to receive the vaccine that will protect against COVID-19, he stated. Biden added that his administration has been preparing for the vaccination campaign since day one, and it is now ready.

“Already next week, we will have enough doses of the vaccine and enough sites. Parents will be able to register to get their children the first vaccination,” said the White House leader.

The President noted that authorities have ensured enough doses of the vaccine for every child aged 5 to 11 in the U.S., and vaccinations will be available at 20,000 sites across the country, including schools, hospitals, and pharmacies.

Earlier, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services approved the COVID-19 vaccination for children aged 5-11 with the drug developed by American pharmaceutical company Pfizer in collaboration with German company BioNTech. The decision was later officially affirmed by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
