US Ambassadors from Azerbaijan and Georgia Visit Armenia
The U.S. Embassy in Armenia hosted a conference for the heads of U.S. missions in the South Caucasus region. This information was reported by the press service of the U.S. Embassy in Armenia.
Attendees included U.S. Ambassador to Armenia Lynne Tracy, U.S. Ambassador to Georgia Kelly Degnan, and U.S. Ambassador to Azerbaijan Lee Litzenberger.
Also present were U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs Ertha Pascal Tokumbo, Chief Advisor on Caucasus Negotiations Andrew Schofer, and the Deputy Director of the Washington office of USAID Alexander Sokolovsky.
“As we approach the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations with Armenia, Georgia, and Azerbaijan, we emphasize our commitment to strengthening our partnerships and supporting the peoples of the region in building a safer, more stable, and prosperous future,” the statement said.
Last year, the conference could not take place due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Participants expressed their happiness that the opportunity was provided to restore the tradition of gathering with their partners in the region and Washington to exchange thoughts, ideas, and information.
Similar conferences were held at the U.S. embassies in Baku and Tbilisi in 2019 and 2018.
