Yes, it is possible to develop Armenia, but the current government’s approach is leading to failure. This was stated by Nairi Sargsyan, the president of the Chamber of Auditors, in an interview with Factinfo.

According to him, our economy will move forward with inertia, but the government should not take credit for this, because the businessman thinks for himself, his family, his team, and his shareholders, and he is accountable to them. As a result of this inertia, a certain portion of the population will have normal incomes, while the rest will barely survive.

“The 2022 budget draft is a clear message to the people that you will live worse next year, because there is no increase in the minimum wage, no anticipated growth in the average wage, while inflation is forecasted at 5.6%. This means that the prices of essential goods will rise by 10% or more. Based on this increase, a person will be buying goods that are 20-70% more expensive than in 2021, and in 2022 they will be acquiring products that are another 20-30% more expensive,” Sargsyan said.
