Direct Flights from Yerevan to Tyumen to Begin

Starting from November 20, a direct flight from Tyumen to Yerevan will commence, with regular flights between Tyumen and Yerevan scheduled once a week thereafter. The flights will be operated by Utair airline. This information was provided by the Armenian Ministry of Economy.

Abraham Hoveyan, the president of the Union of Armenians of Tyumen, expressed hope that the permanent flights would strengthen the cultural and spiritual ties of the Armenian community in Tyumen with their historical homeland and promote business processes and tourism development between Russia and Armenia. He also offered to leverage the potential of the Armenian community in Tyumen, which numbers around 25,000, to make the most effective use of the opportunity created to enhance economic and cultural cooperation with Armenia.

Minister Vahan Kerobyan thanked Hoveyan for his efforts in organizing the regular direct flights between Tyumen and Yerevan and for his willingness to cooperate further, emphasizing the importance of the diaspora's involvement in the development of Armenia's economy. He also added that he looks forward to active cooperation, assuring that the ministry will also seize the opportunity to elevate trade and economic relations with Tyumen to a new level.

Tyumenis one of the largest administrative regions in the world and the largest oil and gas region in Russia. The region has well-developed industries such as oil production and refining, machinery manufacturing, construction materials production, and woodworking.
