Baku Violated the Right to Life of Armenian Prisoners: ECHR Ruling
The European Court of Human Rights has just published rulings on the cases of Mamikon Khojoyan from the village of Verin Karmiraghbyur in Tavush Province and Karen Petrosyan from the village of Chinari, who were captured and tortured in Azerbaijan in 2014.
The Strasbourg court recognized that Baku violated the Armenian prisoners' right to life, as well as their rights to be free from torture, discrimination, liberty, and personal inviolability. The ECHR has obliged Baku to pay 40,000 euros for each case.
