Are You Ready to Find the Courage to Oppose the Decisions of Armenia’s Headless Leaders? - Nairi Hokhikyan

Interethnic relations expert Nairi Hokhikyan’s statement:

“I am often approached by people with the rhetorical question: what can we do when great powers of the world decide for us, and our headless authorities have long entered into a pact, bowing their heads to external demands?

In such cases, I always recall the example of Nzhdeh. In 1921, the great powers had also decided the fate of Syunik, and they had determined that just a small fragment of land should be left from our country. But Nzhdeh was able not only to oppose the great powers of the world and the headless leaders of Armenia but also to change their plans and save a crucial part of the homeland.

So why can’t we do the same today? In December 2020, it was decided that Berdzor, Aghavno, and Sus in Artsakh should be surrendered to the enemy, and therefore no Armenians should live there. Starting from the spring of 2021, we opposed the decisions of the great powers and our headless leaders, maintaining these settlements led by Andranik from Aghavno and revitalizing them. Today, everyone is taking that reality into account.

Therefore, our future depends on us, our united decisions, and our actions. Let’s demonstrate our unity, starting from Syunik, from Meghri, and SHOW THAT WE ARE THE OWNERS OF OUR STATE... Are you ready to find the courage to confront the decisions of the great powers and Armenia’s headless leaders? For the sake of our homeland, for the sake of statehood, for our children and parents….”
