Vaccination Situation Remains Unchanged; Many Foreigners Vaccinated: 'Zhoghovurd'

'Zhoghovurd' newspaper reports: 'The Ministry of Health regularly presents the vaccination situation in Armenia. Despite the requirement for employees to provide proof of vaccination or a negative coronavirus test starting from October 14, vaccination numbers have not seen a significant increase. Moreover, a substantial portion of those vaccinated continues to be foreigners. As of October 26, it is reported that 2.9 percent of vaccinations in Armenia have been administered to foreigners, amounting to about 20,000 individuals, while 97.1 percent have been to Armenian citizens.

Since the start of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign, a total of 677,032 vaccinations have been administered by October 24, with 466,785 receiving their first dose and 210,247 receiving their second dose. The complete vaccination rate in Armenia stands at approximately 10 percent. Thus, roughly 20,000 foreigners have been vaccinated against coronavirus in Armenia to date. It is noteworthy that the vaccination rate among Armenians remains alarmingly low. If it weren't for the mandates, even these low figures would not have been achieved.' More details can be found in today’s issue of the newspaper.
