Smuggled Gold Discovered on Two Armenian Citizens in Georgia

In Georgia, large quantities of undeclared gold have been found on two Armenian citizens at the Tbilisi airport checkpoint. This has been reported by the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.

The gold was discovered during inspections of the individuals and their luggage. The weight of the smuggled gold amounted to 322.5 grams, equivalent to approximately 37,600 lari (over 12,000 US dollars).

One of the Armenian citizens was fined 14,304 lari (about 4,500 US dollars) under Article 168 of the Georgian Customs Code, while the case of the other individual has been referred to the investigative service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia.
