Publish the Content of the Proposed Agreement and Present It for Public Discussion: 'Zartonk'

The executive body of the 'Zartonk' national Christian party has issued a statement demanding the publication of the content of the proposed agreements and the initiation of public discussions.

'A year ago, the current authorities signed a trilateral document of a capitulatory nature behind the back of the Armenian society, which was essentially accepted unilaterally and in secret. Due to the actions and inactions of the authorities before, during, and after the signing of that document, our statehood has been endangered.

In the lead-up to November 9, 2021, disturbing information has surfaced in the information space regarding the signing of a new nationally destructive document, specifically concerning the delimitation and demarcation of the RA state borders, as well as the unblocking of communication routes with hostile states.

As a result, Artsakh and Syunik find themselves under an unknown threat. The current authorities are carrying out this under a veil of secrecy, which is genuinely concerning.

On November 2 and November 3 of this year, Vahagn Chahalayan, a member of the executive body of the 'Zartonk' national Christian party, conducted a solitary protest in front of the government building under the banners 'Save Artsakh' and 'Save Syunik,' demanding the publication of the content of the document to be signed on November 9 and to present it for public discussion.

Law enforcement officers illegally detained Vahagn Chahalayan three times, twice on November 2 and once on November 3, infringing upon his constitutional rights, and obstructing his protest action. Such behavior from the ruling force towards a single individual's political action only deepens our concerns.

The executive body of the 'Zartonk' national Christian party demands:

• From the Armenian government: to publish the content of the proposed agreement and present it for public discussion.
• From the Chief of Police: to immediately cease the illegal actions, violence, and pressures against citizens and to ensure the uninterrupted realization of citizens' constitutional right to peaceful assembly.

The executive body of the 'Zartonk' national Christian party reaffirms its position, insisting that providing a bridge to Azerbaijan through SYUNIK is absolutely intolerable. Demarcation and delimitation, as well as the unblocking of communications at this stage, are dangerous and contradict the interests of Armenia and Artsakh,' the statement reads.
