16-Year-Old Boy Who Jumped from Davitashen Bridge Celebrated Birthday the Day Before: Details

A 16-year-old boy who jumped from the Davitashen Bridge in Yerevan on November 2 had celebrated his birthday the day before the incident. This information was revealed by Vardan Tadevosyan, the spokesperson for the Investigative Committee of Armenia, in a conversation with Sputnik Armenia.

According to eyewitnesses, the boy was alone at the time of the incident and jumped from the bridge by himself. On that day, the boy had left school to attend a math class but did not go.

“No note or anything indicating his intention was found with the boy; they only discovered his personal phone, which also did not contain anything suspicious,” Tadevosyan stated.

In conversations with law enforcement, the boy's parents expressed that they had no idea what could have prompted him to take such a drastic step. They described him as a reserved and quiet individual, primarily focused on his studies and spending time on his phone.

The day before the incident, he celebrated his birthday with family and relatives, and everything appeared to be normal. “He was a child from a normal family; his mother is a teacher, and his father is a taxi driver. He also has a younger brother,” said the spokesperson of the Investigative Committee.

It is noteworthy that on November 2, at 18:41, the National Center for Crisis Management received information that a citizen had committed suicide by jumping from the Davitashen Bridge in Yerevan. Rescuers later discovered the body of H.A. (born in 2005) beneath the bridge.
