Chairman Charchyan Not Present at Judicial Hearing

Professor and Member of the National Assembly from the "Armenia" faction, Armen Charchyan's health condition is under review by a newly formed commission, as announced during an urgent judicial hearing held today. The hearing is taking place at the Yerevan Court of General Jurisdiction, presided over by Judge Vahe Misakyan. Charchyan is not present at the session.

The court appointed vascular surgeons Eduard Aghiyan and Tigran Sultanyan as members of the commission. Aghiyan mentioned that Charchyan was his lecturer, but assured that this would not hinder his ability to provide an impartial opinion.

Judge Vahe Misakyan noted that one of the candidates proposed by the Ministry of Health, neurologist Ekaterina Hovhannisyan, has declined to participate in the expert examination. The ministry needs to offer another specialist in her place. Additionally, one of the doctors suggested by the ministry, Samvel Hayrumyan, is unwell. The judge remarked that if it is due to coronavirus, he too should be replaced to avoid prolonging the expert examination.

The last candidate for the commission is the therapist Hasmik Avalyan. The court adjourned for 40 minutes to ensure Avalyan's participation.

It is noteworthy that the medical commission examining Armen Charchyan's health has already been established. Yesterday, the names of five doctors were made public, including therapist Naira Gogyan, endocrinologist Kristine Sarkisyan, cardiologist Hamlet Hayrapetyan, and cardiologist Lusine Tunyanyan. These experts are expected to conduct a document review rather than direct examinations, meaning they will analyze the documents based on the tests Charchyan has undergone.
