96-Year-Old Woman Charged in Turkey for Insulting Erdoğan
A 96-year-old woman living in the Siverek district of Turkey's Şanlıurfa province, Aliye Yabansu, has been charged with insulting the President of the Republic of Turkey. This is reported by Ermenihaber.am.
Yabansu is bedridden and according to a document released by the hospital, she is deemed incapable of committing a crime. The Şanlıurfa Prosecutor's Office filed a complaint against Yabansu based on a video that was recorded without her consent in 2019 and disseminated on social media.
The prosecutor's indictment states that in the video, Yabansu made remarks that "insult the honor and dignity of the President of the Republic of Turkey."
