17 Reservoirs to be Constructed in 17 Settlements of Syunik Next Year: Minister
During the joint session of the permanent committees on economic and financial issues and budgetary matters of the National Assembly on November 2, allocations for the transport, water management, and energy sectors proposed in the 2022 state budget were presented. This was reported by the ministry on its Facebook page.
According to Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure Gnel Sanosyan, the ministry will receive 335 billion 257 million drams. Within the framework of 22 programs, 140 events will be implemented. Of this, 209 billion 594 million drams will be allocated for capital expenditures, while 125 billion 663 million drams will cover current expenses.
The Minister noted that the budget draft allocates 116 billion 642 million drams for the transport sector. Three programs will be carried out with 31 events planned. The largest of these is the "Improvement of the Road Network" project, which will receive 115 billion 117 million drams.
Another project includes the reconstruction of the Talin-Lanjik and Lanjik-Gyumri road segments and ensuring bidirectional traffic.
The construction of a bridge in the area of the Bagratashen border crossing point will continue, for which 1.3 billion drams will be allocated from the budget. Construction works will also be conducted in the Vanadzor-Alaverdy-border area with Georgia.
In the water management sector, 45 billion 253 million drams will be allocated to implement 5 programs and 41 events. The majority of the funds will be directed to the "Restoration of Irrigation Systems" program, which includes the renovation of irrigation networks spanning 185 km and the construction of 15 km of new networks.
Within the framework of a project supported by the EU, irrigation systems will be constructed in 17 settlements of Syunik province, and 17 reservoirs will be designed and built, along with the renovation of 4 reservoirs.
The allocation for the energy sector is 49 billion 425 million drams, with plans to implement 3 programs and 10 events. The largest project is the "Caucasian Electricity Transmission Network / Armenia-Georgia Transmission Line / Substations," which comprises three components.
