Video: Man in Joker Costume Stabs 17 People in Japanese Subway

A 24-year-old man dressed as the comic book character the Joker stabbed passengers in Japan's subway, according to reports from the BBC. A total of 17 people were injured, with three in serious condition.

Witnesses reported that the suspect sprayed some liquid in the train carriage and then set it on fire. People fled in panic, escaping through the train windows.

The man was arrested at the scene by the police. He told authorities that he intended to kill several people in order to be sentenced to death.
