Updated Records in Russia: The Epidemic Situation in the Country is Severe

In the last day, the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Russia has increased by 40,993, reaching a total of 8,513,790. This marks a new maximum figure in the country throughout the pandemic, according to data from the operational headquarters for combating the disease, as reported by TASS.

Currently, the number of active cases, that is, patients receiving treatment, has reached 916,713 according to the headquarters' report. Meanwhile, the number of Russians recovered from coronavirus has increased by 27,115 in one day, totaling 7,358,539. The number of discharged patients has decreased by 86.4 percent compared to the number of infected individuals, according to the headquarters' data.

The number of deaths due to coronavirus in Russia has risen by 1,158 in one day, reaching a total of 238,538. The conditional mortality rate (the final rate can only be determined once the pandemic is over) continues to remain at the level of 2.8 percent, the headquarters reported.
