The Armed Forces Cannot Solely Undertake Full-Scale Engineering Works: Andranik Kocharian

Arthur Khachatryan, a deputy of the "Hayastan" faction, hopes that the National Guard will not be used only internally within the country. "I hope you will not conclude that the National Guard is only going to be used inside the country, especially considering how much the frontline with the enemy has extended after the war," Khachatryan addressed Deputy Chief of Police Ara Fidanyan.

Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the "Pativ Unem" faction, stated that he prefers the Armed Forces, army corps, or border troops of the NSS to fully ensure border security, eliminating the need for police involvement. "What new problem is being posed?" the parliament member inquired.

Ara Fidanyan replied that the entire police force, as demonstrated by the war, is always ready and has always participated and will continue to participate in the defense of borders. "Currently, police troops are subordinate to the chief of police. Approaches regarding the Guard will be different. We will have the best option," he said.

Andranik Kocharian, a deputy from the "Civil Contract" faction, also declared that he has recently been on the eastern part of the border. "The length of the borders has changed, the content has changed, and the Armed Forces cannot solely carry out their duties at full capacity, nor can they handle the work in engineering structures alone. I believe some segments of our society, such as students, should say they are alongside the army; it would be good for that to materialize, to take tools and go participate in certain engineering works so that our soldiers can focus on the combat mission at hand," said the deputy from QP.
