Irina's Name Removed from Casualties List and Added to Missing Persons List Thanks to Efforts of Relatives
Irina was from the village of Khinkavan in the Martakert region. Her father was killed during the first Nagorno-Karabakh war. Her husband, Vahing Musayelyan, was an officer in the Artsakh Defense Army. In 1996, Vahing was killed during a special operation. At that time, Irina was pregnant and named her newborn son after her husband.
This information was shared by Aram Gevorgyan, editor of the Blognews website, on his Facebook page. In 2020, Irina was a contract soldier serving in a unit located in the village of Drmbon in Artsakh. On September 27, she left with her comrades for Talish. After 4:00 PM that day, communication with her was lost. The last thing she told her relatives was that these were not ordinary military operations and urged them to move the children to a safe area.
According to eyewitnesses, they fought against the enemy for a long time; their commander destroyed a tank, after which the enemy began to strike their position. Irina's name was initially included in the casualties list, but her remains have not been found. From their squad, 10 people were killed, and 5 are considered missing. Thanks to the efforts of her relatives, Irina's name has been removed from the casualties list and added to the missing persons list. To this day, Irina's fate remains unknown...
