Russian Hackers Steal Personal Data of World Leaders, Hollywood Stars, Billionaires: Daily Mail
According to a British publication, the notorious Russian hacker group Conti is behind the data theft and claims that the published information, which pertains to approximately 11,000 of Graff's most elite clients, represents just one percent of its stolen files.
The hackers have stolen personal data of world leaders, Hollywood stars, and billionaires, executing a massive "virtual heist" on the prestigious Graff jewelry company, as reported by the Daily Mail. Cybercriminals have already leaked 69,000 confidential documents in what is being referred to as the "data dump," including files related to Donald Trump, Oprah Winfrey, David Beckham, Sir Philip Green, Tom Hanks, Alec Baldwin, and Samuel L. Jackson.
It is believed that the criminals are demanding tens of millions of pounds to stop further publication of sensitive information. The stolen documents include client lists, invoices, delivery notes, and credit notes, which could place clients in compromising situations, such as having purchased gifts for secret lovers or having taken jewelry as bribes.
London-based Graff, founded by 83-year-old Lawrence Graff, stated that it has informed those whose personal data may have become accessible to cybercriminals.
