Naira Zohrabyan Proposes Imposing a State Tax on Epic Idiotism

A former member of the National Assembly, Naira Zohrabyan, posted on her Facebook page: “I propose to establish a state tax on epic idiotism. In 2007, local authorities in Wallonia, which has a population of 3.5 million, imposed a state fee for grilling, believing it posed a serious threat due to global warming.

In 2008, the administration of U.S. President Barack Obama, concerned about the health of its citizens, imposed a state tax on sunbathing. Henceforth, if you want to get a tan in tanning salons and increase your risk of getting cancer, you will have to pay an additional state tax.

There was also a Tibetan tax specifically for individuals with large noses, who consume significantly more oxygen than those with smaller noses.

However, the tax I am proposing now is, I believe, as relevant as taxes on air pollution and ozone layer damage. I propose to introduce a tax on idiotism, whereby any time a public official makes an idiotic statement, which gets propagated through the media and social networks and poses a direct danger to the collective intelligence of the public, a tax on idiotism should be imposed.

Ultimately, we are responsible for maintaining the 'ozone layer' of our and our children’s minds, which should not be regularly polluted by such emissions from the external environment.”
