Sales of Plastic Bags to Be Banned by Law Starting Next Year

According to a government decision, starting from January 1, 2022, stores will no longer provide plastic bags. To prevent environmental disaster, the sale of bags thicker than 50 microns will initially be prohibited. However, bags intended for weighing and packaging will not be banned.

The sale of bags with handles and those made from secondary raw materials will still be permitted. Business owners are aware of the new regulations but are awaiting detailed information from relevant authorities regarding the enforcement of these rules.

It is important to note that a single plastic bag can take 100 to 200 years to decompose.
