Russian Border Guards Truck Rolls 150 Meters Into Ravine, One Dead, One Injured

Today, on October 29, a major and tragic car accident occurred in the Ararat region. At approximately 11:40 AM, a truck left the roadway in the vicinity of the Tigranashen bend on the Yerevan-Eraskh-Meghri highway, rolling about 150 meters into a ravine under still unknown circumstances.

According to reports from shamshyan.com, one person was killed on the spot, and another was transported to the hospital. Emergency response teams from the Ararat firefighting and rescue squad of the Ministry of Emergency Situations arrived promptly. Teams from the 2nd Battalion of the Road Police were also dispatched, led by Battalion Commander Arsen Mardoyan, Deputy Battalion Commander Hayk Davtyan, Platoon Commander Grigor Poghosyan, and Squad Leader Karapet Harutyunyan. An operational group from the Ararat police department also arrived at the scene, as did personnel from the Military Police of the Ministry of Defense of Armenia.

Preliminary information indicates that the deceased and the injured are servicemen of the Russian Border Guards, and operatives from the Russian Border Guards are expected to arrive at the scene. The police are investigating the identities of the driver, the deceased, and the injured.
