Revelations During the Tenure of a Minister from the ruling My Step Alliance
The newspaper "Zhoxovurd" reports that based on a 2019 government decision, funds were allocated to the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs to purchase protected housing and small houses, allowing the ministry to announce a competition, in which a specific company won.
After this, the ministry was supposed to organize the process of acquiring protected homes for the elderly. However, it was later revealed by law enforcement that the apartments purchased by the ministry were bought at prices higher than the market value.
As a result, employees of the ministry were arrested and are currently in custody. According to reports, what is noteworthy in this criminal case is that law enforcement is allegedly telling those arrested to give testimony against the minister and deputy minister, and thereafter their preventive measure may be changed.
In 2019, the Minister of Social Affairs was Zaruhy Batoyan, who is now a member of the My Step Alliance faction.
