Masked and Armed Individuals Enter Home, Gunshots in Tashir

On October 29, 2021, at 01:45 AM, the Tashir Medical Center reported to the Tashir division of the Armenian Police regarding the admission of a 29-year-old resident of Tashir, who had sustained a gunshot wound to the left side of the face, a fractured lower jaw, and a penetrating bullet wound to the left chest with tense hemopneumothorax, at around 01:40 AM the same day.

At 02:30 AM, the victim's mother filed a report with the Tashir division of the Armenian Police, stating that at approximately 01:30 AM, two masked and armed individuals entered their home, inquired about her son’s whereabouts, and demanded money and gold. After receiving a negative response, one of the assailants struck her son on the forehead with the butt of a submachine gun, while the other ascended to the second floor.

Shortly thereafter, when the son returned, one of the intruders opened fire at him in the yard, causing injuries before the alleged perpetrators fled the scene.

A criminal case has been initiated by the Lori Regional Investigative Department under Article 175, Part 3, Clause 3, Article 34-104, Part 2, Clause 8, and Article 235, Part 1 of the Armenian Criminal Code. An examination of the crime scene has been conducted, and the 29-year-old victim was transported to the hospital in an unconscious state. His mother has been interrogated, and the clothing they were wearing at the time of the incident has been seized. The investigation is ongoing.
