EU Expands List of Countries Whose Citizens Will Have Border Access

The European Union has decided to add Argentina, Colombia, Namibia, and Peru to the list of countries whose citizens can visit the EU without mandatory restrictions, including for tourism purposes. This information was communicated by the EU Council on October 29, according to TASS agency.

The Council has updated the list of countries, special administrative regions, and other entities for which travel restrictions will be lifted. Specifically, the list now includes Argentina, Colombia, Namibia, and Peru,” the Council's statement read.

In addition to the newly added countries, the so-called 'green' list includes Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Chile, Jordan, Kuwait, New Zealand, Qatar, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Korea, Ukraine, the United Arab Emirates, Uruguay, and also China, but based on reciprocity.

In early May, the European Commission recommended EU member states to ease entry restrictions for foreign tourists vaccinated with vaccines certified by the European Medicines Agency for the first time since the onset of the pandemic. EU states will also have the right to allow entry to individuals vaccinated with vaccines authorized by the World Health Organization for emergency use.
