Zakharchenko Comments on Issues Related to Opening of Communications
The official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Maria Zakharova, commented during a weekly briefing on the recent visit of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev to the territories that came under Baku's control as a result of the 44-day war, specifically regarding the so-called "Zangezur corridor" construction event.
“We believe that the most optimal form for unblocking transport communications in the South Caucasus is a trilateral working group co-chaired by the Deputy Prime Ministers of the three countries: Azerbaijan, Armenia, and Russia. This mechanism has held eight sessions, and all parties have highly appreciated its work. Overall, there have already been numerous comments made directly based on the results of the meetings. Therefore, you can personally familiarize yourself with the details of the group's work,” noted the representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
“Accordingly, we consider the statements and steps that contribute to the implementation of trilateral agreements on unblocking all economic and communication routes in the South Caucasus to be correct,” she added.
